Future Business Leaders of America

Requirements for Membership

  • One CTE Business/Marketing class
  • Membership dues (In 2024 the yearly National/State/Local dues were $30)
  • Participation in chapter activities to the best of the student’s ability and schedule

FBLA is a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) with students in officer roles to run meetings and guide the direction of the chapter activities. We have been meeting once a week in which we do community service projects, prepare fundraising activities, and complete state and national activities for chapter recognition. Competition practice is also part of our meetings. We compete at the District level (a fee is required), which is held here in Colorado Springs. If you are in the top four in your competition at the district level, you are eligible to compete at the state level. This leadership conference is held at the Gaylord at the Rockies in Denver. There is also a national leadership conference. If you are one of the top four in the state in your competition, you qualify to compete nationally. Helping with fundraising activities is a way to help with the expenses for these higher-level competitions.

Students graduating with a minimum of two active years in FBLA, with one of those years being their senior year, receive FBLA graduation cords. If you are looking to develop stronger leadership skills or gain community service hours while competing in a subject of personal interest and engaging with a great group of students – FBLA is for you!
