Mrs. Jordan Voltz, Elementary School Principal

Jordan has been a proud Banning Lewis Academy Stallion since 2017. She started her time with Banning as a middle school counselor at BLPA in their inaugural year, before moving over to BLRA in 2018. She served BLRA as school counselor and then assistant principal before becoming principal to start the 2022-2023 school year. Mrs. Voltz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology, a Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services, and both professional special service provider and principal licensure certifications with the Colorado Department of Education.  She grew up in Colorado Springs and has been a passionate educator in local schools for over 15 years. Mrs. Voltz is an advocate for a systemic, whole child approach to education. She strives to partner with families and provide support to teachers to ensure that all students have the best opportunity to obtain a rigorous academic education, as they develop into well-rounded citizens ready to achieve their life goals. When not serving and celebrating with her beloved Stallion community, Mrs. Voltz can be found spending quality time enjoying our beautiful state or at a baseball game with her husband, daughter, and son.

Mr. Rick Dahlman, Middle School Principal

Mr. Rick Dahlman joined Banning Lewis Academy in 2017 with over 11 years of experiences as a K-8 educator and leader. Prior to joining ACCEL Schools, Mr. Dahlman worked at two other schools where he worked on refining his expertise in highly effective classroom instruction and whole child development. Mr. Dahlman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a Secondary Teaching Emphasis from The University of Northern Colorado and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Regis University. His two sons attend Banning Lewis Ranch Academy and he is married to a fellow educator. He loves the BLA family, their partnership with District 49, and looks forward to driving great outcomes for students.

Mrs. Athena Rehorst, High School Principal

Mrs. Athena Rehorst is happy to join the BLPA family as the High School Principal. Mrs. Rehorst grew up outside of Seattle in Mill Creek, Washington. She attended school at University of Washington where she received a BS in Marine Zoology. While doing community service work during her junior year, Mrs. Rehorst decided that she wanted to be a teacher instead of a researcher. She moved to Colorado and received her M.Ed. from Regis University. She taught 5th grade for one year at Remington Elementary and then spent the next 18 years teaching middle school math, science, and technology, first at Divine Redeemer and then at Carson Middle School. She then took the leap to high school and was the Dean and MTSS Coordinator at Rampart High School for the next 3 years. Mrs. Rehorst is married and has two daughters. Her oldest is a sophomore at St. Olaf in Minnesota and her youngest is a freshman at Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs. In her free time she loves to travel, read, and be outdoors!
