At Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy (BLPA), our Middle School program is designed to provide a rigorous, well-rounded education that prepares students for success both inside and outside the classroom. We emphasize mastery-based learning and offer multiple pathways for students to thrive academically and personally. Our middle school curriculum incorporates high academic standards in all core subjects, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. We recognize that every student has unique strengths, interests, and learning styles. To support each learner’s journey, BLPA offers multiple pathways to success. These pathways allow students to explore their passions and develop specialized skills through electives, enrichment programs, and individualized learning plans. Whether through advanced coursework, language immersion, or creative arts, students have the opportunity to pursue areas of interest while maintaining a strong academic foundation. Our diverse programs are designed to foster both personal growth and academic achievement, ensuring that students are prepared for the varied challenges they will face in high school and beyond.
Middle School, 6-8
In Middle School, students make the transition to our 6-12 campus under the guidance and support of a dedicated Administrative Leadership team. These formative years build on the foundational knowledge students gained in their Elementary School Program–whether that was from Banning Lewis Ranch Academy or another elementary school. The BLPA team ensures that incoming middle schoolers will feel welcomed and valued throughout their time on campus. Furthermore, the BLPA team supports students in their academic and personal development through cross-curricular and interdisciplinary learning. It is here that students will dive into the skills they need to be successful in the ever evolving 21st century.

LEAD the Herd
Every student has dedicated advisory time built into their school day to focus on Character Education and Social Emotional Learning. The theme of this learning is LEAD:

Students are given clear tools to help build the behavioral, social, and emotional skills they need to be successful throughout their time as a Stallion and beyond. BLPA provides positive incentive for students expressing these character traits through the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. By celebrating student success we promote positive and continuous growth.
Special Education
At Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students. Our Special Education program is tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with exceptionalities, providing individualized learning plans, specialized instruction, and a team of highly qualified educators and support staff. We focus on building strong partnerships with families to ensure that each child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. Curriculum
Our content-rich curriculum converges high tech with the humanities, combining the rigors of a traditional education with the relevance required by contemporary culture. Our interdisciplinary program instills in students a captivating conceptual understanding and chronological picture of history, as well as an awareness of the interrelationships between different domains of knowledge.
Technology
To master true computer literacy, students require hands-on access to computers as a tool for authentic learning. Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy is 1 to 1 for computer devices to students.
Assessment
The barometers that gauge Banning Lewis Academy’s success include higher student standardized test scores, marked progress in the quality of performance-based assessments, improved student attendance, and retention as well as enhanced motivation, satisfaction, and morale on the part of students, teachers, and parents.
